One my very early posts (3 months ago) might be useful to RadRailers if you haven’t already seen it: how to make RadRails text editors look like TextMate.

    Nic! This is trully awfull! Making your PC look like a Mac! All the time people trying to fake their PC in a Mac, i can’t stand it any longer! :-)
    Just buy one, for the sake of us all! Shall we raise money for you?

    I’ve been a lurker for some time, but I just want to come out and say thanks for yet another AWESOME post Dr Nic! Any chance of making those fugly Eclipse tabs look a bit better?

    @Andy - Lurkers are always welcome :)

    I’m not an Eclipse man - that would of course require relearning Java! There is a RadRails forum, where you can lurk some more or perhaps ask this very same question :)

    This looks great, and thanks for the effort, but I’m having some problems with the SQL Text editor since I’ve installed this. Basically it’s displaying all normal text (i.e stuff that isn’t a keyword, type, string or comment) in white on a white background. The only way I can see it is to select it.

    This wouldn’t be a problem if I could change the SQL Text Editor’s background colour to black but no matter how many different background colour attributes I change the SQL editor stays the same.

    Any one else experiencing this? Any ideas how to fix it?

    As a work around I’ve right clicked on a SQL file and gone ‘open with’->’text editor’ so I can now edit SQL files but without any syntax highlighting.

    A small price to pay!

    @anton - Yep its a known problem unfortunately, though I don’t use the SQL editor at all, but I can imagine it’d be a pain in the arse. Glad there is one way around it, minus highlighting.

    Hi Nic, any chance to have snippets like ‘rp*’ => render :partial working in rhtml templates too?

    @paolo - I’m working on a site for hosting + tracking changes to templates so we can continue to add/fix them and share the same templates. I personally won’t make any changes to the published xml files above til then, but if you want to add/fix your own templates in RadRails do so now, and you’ll be able to export and patch them into the shared templates soon.

    Hey,

    I’m looking around for ways to adjust the different font colours? I looked up and Alex Wayne said he was able to change the regexp from blue to lavender. I want to do the same, but can’t find where to change it in the options.

    @Steven - go to Window>>Preferences…

    Then: General > Appearance > Colors and Fonts

    Select: Ruby > Editor > Syntax Coloring

    Under “Element”: Ruby > Regular Expressions

    Click on the Color button and select something else.
